Thoughtful

Thank you C.M. for the angel. It is good to be in your thoughts. Hope to see you soon, in warmer weather when I come out of hibernation.

Wishing you and your family a very happy holiday season.

Saint Rosa

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

Thank you Universe for bringing Rosa into our lives! Where ALS has been stealing life from Aiden and me, Rosa is giving it back. Rosa is a pure soul, with a beautiful giving heart. I hope she knows that she is much more than a highly valued employee in this house… she is a friend, a sister, a mother. We love her and are very grateful to her. She keeps the sun shining.

Not Forgotten

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

Wow! I’ve been out on disability for nearly three years now, but every time I visit my old office mates at Vassar College, I am greeted with excitement, smiles, and sheer delight. Of course, Aiden is always with me, so a lot of the giddiness is surely over him! Tonight, Lewis brought in the mail, and once again there was a birthday card from my Vassar family. I am so thankful for such good cheer from this fun bunch. We’ll be visiting again soon!

My Big Man

Sunday, October 1st, 2006

My big man is not perfect
and neither am I.
We’ve had some rough spots,
but who hasn’t?
We made it through
and we’re fine the way we are.
I’m fine with him,
and he’s fine with me.

My big man builds cozy fires for me.
He brings me food… whatever I like.
My big man rubs my feet and ankles
even when he’s tired or hungry,
or has a million other things to do.
My big man goes to work five days a week,
he does the shopping,
and runs errands for me,
then he comes home and takes the baby,
relieving me.

My big man loves our baby as much as I do,
and that’s the most!
My big man is the best daddy
EVER EVER EVER!

My big man makes sure I have the best organic coffee everyday.
He brings me vegan sweet treats from the stores.
My big man is humble
and he truly does these things for me,
not for the thanks he’ll get.
Humble and true…
that’s my big man.
