Up the Down Staircase: Face-First
Tuesday, September 30th, 2008When I go up, I come down hard. This time it was the front slate steps going to my front door. Rosa, Adelisa, and I had just finished packing my van with physical therapy play equipment that I am donating to Aiden’s preschool so all the kids can enjoy it. I was almost to the front door when my dropped left foot hung up on the step and I slammed my face into the slate. I have no handrails there. Will have to get some. Meanwhile, my plans for a stair-free home continue. Anyway, thanks so much to Adelisa, Rosa, Darren, Michele, Kevin, and the LaGrange Fire Dept. rescue folks for such caring and immediate help. I am so lucky to have Darren and Michele as neighbors! I ended up with 5 stitches, but before I left the ER, blood started pouring out again. I had sprung a leak! So then they tried to glue it shut, but I’m still oozing. Where’s my home makeover?
